For Memorial Day

My friend Peter's uncle (Robert Fulton) was featured in a Boston Globe story and video back in 2009 about two World War II veterans who served together and were living in the same nursing home, unbeknownst to them. It's well worth the few minutes it will take to read and watch, especially as a reminder of why, on this special day, we raise the flag, or go to parades, or spiritedly sing the National Anthem, or weep as a sixth grader proudly recites the Gettysburg Address at the town burying ground.

"Together in war, and now in old age."
