During the Great Halloween Eve Eve Blizzard of 2011 (tm), we had our first fire of the year. That log, there on the left of the hearth, is the second-to-last piece left from the apple tree that DickieJ had to cut down to make room for our wedding tent in 1993. He hid the bundle of wood from us for years until we finally had a house with a fireplace. He surprised us with it the Christmas after we moved into 16, and we have used one log in our first fire of every year since. Thanks, Pops.

Rosie knows something is up, because there are piles of weird stuff everywhere. All. Over. The. House.

Driveway:

And when the Devlin Family arrived for their annual last stop for Trick-or-Treating, Liam would NOT be fooled. "That's not blood. That's just DECORATION." They are teaching them right at the Brown School kindergarten!

Special thanks to Margaret and Joanne for permitting us to hook our mummy-line to their shutter hook for maximum hanging spookage!

Until next year!
