My New Years Resolution: to solve the mystery of the secret-Fathead-sender. So, exhaustive investigation (sending an e-mail) revealed that my cousin Bob and his wife Hollis were the bestowers, and had even requested that a message from them be included. After all of that, not meant to be a secret whatsoever! The actual object of the resolution exercise really was to send a thank you note. All I could think about was that some kind person sent us a present in September and STILL hadn't received a thank you note as of January. Who does that? Well, not us. Not anymore. Thanks, sweet cousins!

A stunning ball of flames in the sky in Wiscasset.

A stunning ball of flames in a field in Newbury. This was the first annual Christmas Tree Bonfire, at Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm. Towns from all around collected residents' used trees and the Newbury Volunteer Fire Department created a two-story tower of dried greens. And then lit it up. It was awesome. There were lots of food vendors, the Ipswich Ale Truck and dancing al freezing fresco. Looking forward to next year!

A Kentucky television station. I'm sure it's a mistake. Honestly.

Mo smiling broadly because he knows this is the last shoveling he'll have to do before his back surgery.

And ohhhhh the shoveling we did in January.

And by "we" I'm also including our neighbor Pete, who moved everything out of our driveway and into the backyard for us. We literally had NO more room for any more snow. I'm typing this on March 27th, and this pile has yet to finish melting. Ugh.

Not sure that I would recommend "on the fly" fireplace damper repair WHILE THERE IS AN ACTUAL FIRE BURNING. But Dickie is Dickie, and the damper got fixed. Bam.
