November (2010)!

Amanda and the family were on from London for an early Thanksgiving celebration in Salisbury, and we were loaded for bear. Cinnamon roasted almonds, Pilgrim Hats, Chocolate Ganache cake. A cornucopia of treats. And the day we were heading out there, we both woke up sick and miserable. So, not wanting to risk passing on a sickness for Thanksgiving proper to our loved-ones, we stayed home. Gah.
We had our roof replaced. Here's the old one. It's gray. I hated it.
And here's the new one. Black shingles. No leaks. Just in time for winter. Phew.

This is Turner Motorsport in Amesbury. They race cars. And race them very well. They also service everyday old beaters, which is why I got to sit in their waiting lounge and watch them change our oil on their live-action webcam. Which entertained me far more than it should...
Aaaaaaand speaking of entertaining, here's our funkiest friend Brandon Merriwether rocking a hat that he explained "one of the Patriots ladies gave to him." After lots of head-shaking and quizzical glances, the hive-mind here at Football Sunday on Salem Street realized that he meant a member of the End Zone Militia. But until we found this photo, we thought that there were no lady members and that maybe he was confused by a Revolutionary-era male wig wearer... In any case, the hat is a funky, funky piece of accoutrement.
We have a new Jason Family November Tradition. Kick a regulation field goal. Timmy, Mo and I were all successful, with Mo being long-man of the day at 31 yards, inclusive. Dickie didn't think that ANY of us would be able to split the uprights, and he's promised to join us for next year's contest. A trophy is in order, I think.
And for the first time in memory, we did not have a proper New England Thanksgiving dinner, that is, eating at 12:30. Pats had the Lions in the early afternoon game so we had a relaxing dinner at Sunset. We are most grateful for so much.
