Conditioning Hike 3

We had intended to climb Wachusett Mountain for our third conditioning hike on Saturday. Plans changed quickly when we got the devastating news that my Uncle Bob (father of LeeLee, Bobby and Ellie) had passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. We attended a most inspiring memorial service at Longmeadow Country Club on Saturday afternoon, and enjoyed hearing so many humorous and touching memories -- Bob was a great man. Here he is, the proudest Dad ever, at LeeLee and Deano's wedding in Edinburgh.
LeeLee and Deano were coming to Newburyport late Sunday morning to stay for a few days before heading back to Scotland, so we had a few hours in the morning to get the boots moving. We went through our hiking books, we looked on line, we hemmed and hawed and then we made a decision. We chose a lovely place run by the (fabulous) Trustees of the Reservation. It had some nice climbs, some nice views and lots of trail options, but most of all it was in North Andover. And that's where Uncle Bob was raised. It only seemed right.
